What we collect on the waitlist

Your email. If you answer our two questions, we also save what you take right now and when your last blood test was. We also note which link brought you here, like a TikTok post.

To stop abuse, the waitlist also keeps a short-lived record of each sign-up try. It is kept under a scrambled code made from your internet address (IP address) and another made from your email, and it is only used to count tries. Records more than a day old are cleared as new sign-ups come in.

What the app keeps

Before you make an account, the one thing you add stays on your phone or in this browser. We cannot see it. It is sent to us only after you make an account and tick the box that says Retest may keep your health info. If you do not, it is deleted after 14 days.

Before you make an account, the app counts how many people reach each of the first steps, like picking what you take or asking for a code. A count says only which step, the hour it happened in, whether you used the app or the website, and which version of the app it was. It never holds your name, your email, your answers, or what you picked or typed, and we do not link it to your account. To stop abuse, we also keep a short-lived record of each count under a scrambled code made from your internet address (IP address). Records more than a day old are cleared as new ones come in.

When you make an account in the Retest app, we keep your email, whether you are a man or a woman, the year you were born, and the time you agreed to this page and which version of it you saw. Each time you sign in, we also keep the time, your internet address (IP address), and what kind of phone or browser you used.

Nobody else who uses Retest can see your information. The people who run Retest can. We only look at it to keep the app working, when you ask us to, to count how many people make an account and finish set-up, or, if you tick the box that says Count which steps I use, to count the things this page lists for it below.

If you add what you take, the app keeps it too: each item, the dose, how often you take it, the day you started, every change you make, and each dose you log. Only you can see it. If you delete an item, the app deletes it, its changes and every dose you logged for it.

If you add a blood test, the app keeps it too: the day it was taken, the lab, each result with its number, unit and range, and the PDF if you uploaded one. Only you can see them. If you remove a test, the app deletes it, its results and its PDF.

If you are a woman, the app asks if you still get a period, if you take hormones for menopause, and if you use hormonal birth control. If you answer, it keeps your answers. The answers about periods and birth control pick the best range for a few hormones. The answer about hormones for menopause does not change any range. You can see and change all three on the You tab. Only you can see them.

If you add body numbers, the app keeps them too: your VO2 max (how much oxygen your body can use) and if it came from a lab test or a watch, how hard you can squeeze, your blood pressure, your waist, your body fat and how it was measured, your heart rate at rest, your answers about how often, how hard and how long you exercise, and the age a DNA age test gave you with the test's name. Each one keeps the day it was measured. Only you can see them. If you delete one, the app deletes it.

Your blood age, fitness age and Retest age are worked out on your phone or in your browser, from your own numbers. We do not keep them.

If you tell the app you are pregnant or had a baby in the last year, it pauses your ages, because a baby changes many blood numbers. We keep the day your ages are paused until, which shows you said yes. We keep nothing else about it. The day stays until you clear it or delete your account, and you can clear it any time. Only you can see it.

To read the numbers out of a PDF, we send that file to Anthropic, the company that makes the Claude AI. They read it and send the numbers back. They do not use your file to train their AI, and they may keep it for up to 30 days to check for misuse, then delete it. If you would rather not send the file, type the numbers in instead.

Each time you send a PDF to be read, we note the time with your account, so we can limit how many PDFs are read in an hour. Notes more than an hour old are cleared the next time you send one. All of them are deleted when you delete your account.

If you tap Tell me when I can order it, the app keeps a copy of what the Tests tab showed you: the things your test would check, why each one is on your list (like what you take and your last numbers), and the day you asked. We use it to email you when you can order. You can cancel it any time. Only you can see it.

Each of these copies stays until you delete your account, even after you cancel it. If you later remove a blood test or delete something you take, a copy made before still shows those numbers or that name.

If you tick the box that says Count which steps I use, the app also notes, with your account, which steps you use, like adding a blood test or logging a dose, and the errors it runs into. We use these notes to see what works and to fix what breaks. If you tick it, we also look at the days of your blood tests and the days you changed what you take, never the numbers or names, to see if people test again on time. The box starts unticked, and we keep no notes unless you tick it. You can turn it on or off any time on the You tab. We keep the time you turned it on. When you turn it off, the app sends no more notes, and the notes we already have stay until you delete your account. A step note says only which step, the time, whether you used the app or the website, and which version of the app it was. An error note says the same, plus which page broke, where in the app's code, and the error's own words with every number, anything in quotes, email addresses and web addresses taken out. Step notes never hold your numbers, your doses or the names of what you take. No ads or trackers see these notes, and they are deleted when you delete your account.

You can delete everything yourself, any time. Open the You tab in the app and tap Delete my account. It is gone right away.

Why we collect it

To plan the Retest app and to email you about it. In the app, we keep your answers so we can show you your results. If you tick the box that says Count which steps I use, we also use the notes and days it counts to see what works and to fix what breaks.

Retest is run by Meridian Protocol LLC.

Your answers about what you take count as health information. We only save them if you tick the box saying it's OK.

What we never do

We never sell your information. We never share it with advertisers. There are no ad trackers on this site and there won't be any in the app.

Who helps us run this

Our database is hosted by Supabase and the website by Vercel, both in the United States. They store the data for us and can't use it for anything else.

Anthropic reads the PDFs you choose to upload, in the United States, only to pull the numbers out.

Your choices

In the app, you can delete your account yourself from the You tab, and it is gone right away. Want to see what we have, or want something else deleted? Email us and we'll do it within 30 days.

In the app, you can also turn Count which steps I use on or off any time on the You tab.

Our emails about Retest news have a link to stop getting them. Sign-in codes and the email about ordering your test do not, because you asked for those.
